The Peter Bello Foundation is a non-governmental organization committed to spreading the message of hope and giving young people the opportunities and support they require to live their dreams. Set up in remembrance of our Son and friend, Captain Peter Kayode Bello who was the co-pilot of the ill-fated Bristow Helicopter that crashed on August 12th 2015 in Lagos,Nigeria.
The Foundation marked the inaugural edition of The Peter Bello Anniversary Week between August 8th – 12th 2016.The objectives of the week was to celebrate the life and legacy of its Founder, Captain Peter Bello and to formally launch and present the Peter Bello Foundation to the community of Foundations in Nigeria.
The Anniversary media launch kicked off the week, a cohort of 80 photographers were trained through the Foundation’s Photography Masterclass facilitated by Nigeria’s industry leaders in photography including Kelechi Amadi -Obi, Kola Oshalusi and Donald Cobhams.
Furthermore, a 3-day seminar was held at the St Patricks Catholic Church with a focus on getting people to explore while young, speakers at the Forum included Kelechi Amadi -Obi, Kola Oshalusi and Blessing Akpan.
The highpoint of the week was the launch of the foundation held at the Transcorp Metropolitan hotel Calabar with the theme ‘’Sustaining the Legacy’’. Attendees were charged by the Keynote Speaker Mr. Sam Ikoku who donated 100 copies of his productivity CD- How to sell anything to anyone to the Foundation’s alumni, Other highlights included an Exhibition tagged ‘Through his Eyes’ – a collection of Peter Bello’s Photography works as well as the remembrance mass held in honour of Captain Peter Bello.

The Foundation’s core intervention and impact investment is in human capacity development in the Arts, Safety, Education and Mentoring.
